Stuart works to resolve client’s intellectual property disputes in a cost effective and commercially sensible manner.
Stuart has considerable experience working with respected intellectual property barristers, senior solicitors and Judges of the State and Federal Courts. Stuart has assisted in the conduct of intellectual property litigation matters for companies, businesses and artists and can advise on:
- Copyright infringement and protection;
- Trade mark strategy and enforcement;
- Patent interpretation and infringement matters; and
- Domain name protection and dispute resolution.
Stuart’s background in Applied Science, majoring in Biotechnology, allows him to fully understand specialist client’s needs and provide tailored advice accordingly. Stuart enjoys advising on complex expert evidence in matters involving the sciences.
Stuart is especially interested in the future of intellectual property law. Stuart is able to assist in matters regarding the changing nature of copyright law in the context of artificial intelligence, as well as changes to medical and software patents in the face of rapid technological advancement. Stuart has previously worked with Creative Commons Australia, Digital Rights Watch Australia and the Queensland University of Technology regarding policy advocacy.
Outside of work, Stuart is an avid photographer and football fanatic.
